Matthew Friedman joined Tishman Speyer in 2026 to lead acquisitions in the western U.S. Prior to joining the firm, Friedman was a managing director at Rockwood Capital, where he served as co-head of the firm’s equity acquisitions platform, leading investment activity across major western U.S. markets. During his time at Rockwood, he was involved in more than $3 billion of transactions across a broad range of asset classes including office, residential, industrial and mixed-use. Earlier in his career, Friedman worked at Eastdil Secured and Bates White. He serves as Chair of CREDA (formerly NAIOP) Mixed-Use Development Forum and is a member of the Urban Land Institute. He graduated summa cum laude from Duke University, where he earned a B.S. in Economics and was elected to the Phi Beta Kappa Society.
