Dustin C. Read, Ph.D., J.D., is head of the Blackwood Department of Real Estate and the Bates Family Associate Professor of Real Estate in Virginia Tech's Pamplin College of Business. His teaching and research interests include property and asset management, as well as housing affordability, land use policy, and real estate development. He is the CREDA Research Foundation’s Thomas J. Bisacquino Distinguished Fellow, an inductee into the Institute of Real Estate Management’s (IREM®) Academy of Authors, and a 10-time recipient of honors from the American Real Estate Society for his contributions to real estate theory and practice. In addition to his academic work, Dr. Read regularly consults with both public and private sector organizations to promote financially, environmentally, and socially responsible real estate development.
